Metal masters Mastodon and rap icon 50 Cent have more in common than you might think, as Billboard reports that they're the first two mainstream acts to embrace digital currency Bitcoin.
Fans can pay for the metal band's new album Once More ‘Round the Sun using the cryptocurrency's pay platform BitPay. 50 embraced Bitcoins during a Reddit AMA last week writing, "Technology is what’s changing the business gotta get with it. I take money no matter if its coins or dollars."
"We’re excited to work with fellow Atlanta-natives BitPay for our new album,” the band said in a press release. “We want to give our fans as many options to buy our new album as possible, and are happy that bitcoin can be one of those choices."
Once More 'Round the Sun is due out June 24 on Warner Bros. 50's Animal Ambition is out now.
