Kid Cudi & Skylar Grey Deliver Haunting "Hero"
Not only is Kid Cudi co-starring in Hollywood flick Need for Speed, he's recorded for its official soundtrack. The first taste of music for the forthcoming film—also starring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul—comes via "Hero" featuring Skylar Grey.
Wonky synths, courtesy of production duo WZRD, and haunting chants, courtesy of Cudi, open the percussion-heavy track. He harmonizes with Grey throughout the ethereal collabo, leaving the listener with a hypnotizing, slightly-creeped-out feeling by the track's end.
And it might just be the fact they're both movies related to cars...but anyone else think this would sound at home on the Drive soundtrack?
Look out for Cudi in Need for Speed when it hits theaters March 14. Curiously, the soundtrack is expected to drop weeks later—April 8, according to Amazon—reportedly featuring contributions from Linkin Park, Calvin Harris, Aloe Blacc and more.
