UPDATE (2/11): Selena Gomez took to Instagram to thank fans for their support after news surfaced that she had quietly entered a rehab facility in early 2014. "I've done everything I could to the best of my ability," the singer/actress wrote. "Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me."
On February 5, reports revealed that the 21-year-old had admitted herself into an Arizona treatment facility a month earlier.
Original Story: E! News has confirmed that Selena Gomez voluntarily checked into rehab earlier this year. On January 5, the "Slow Down" singer was admitted to Arizona's Dawn at the Meadows.
Selena's rep specified that the pop star was "not [in the treatment facility] for substance abuse." Dawn at the Meadows' website states that its specialists help treat "alcohol addiction, bipolar disorder, codependency, depression, drug addiction, love addiction, love avoidance, panic/anxiety disorder, PTSD and trauma."
In December of 2013, Selena canceled the remaining Asian and Australian dates of her "Stars Dance" tour. She said in a statement, "It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
