Another bizarre, sad twist to the Michael Jackson story: Paris Jackson, MJ's 15-year-old daughter, was rushed to the hospital after attempting to commit suicide, according to US Magazine.
Jackson's mother Debbie Rowe confirmed the news to Entertainment Tonight, noting that her daughter had "a lot going on [lately]." There have been conflicting reports as to the exact reason, however, for the incident.
Rowe told the site that her daughter had "cuts on her wrists," while LA County Fire confirmed that they received a 911 call for an overdose early Wednesday morning.
A lawyer for Rowe declined to elaborate, stating only, "We appreciate everyone’s thoughts for Paris at this time and their respect for the family’s privacy."
Yesterday, Jackson tweeted lyrics from the Beatles' "Yesterday," writing, "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away/Now it looks as though they're here to stay."
Jackson's hospitalization comes in the midst of a high-profile, wrongful death lawsuit between members of Michael Jackson's family and concert promoter AEG. The family has alleged that AEG Live pressured Dr. Conrad Murray to approve the singer fit to rehearse despite Jackson's ailing physical condition prior to his death. Lawyers for the prosecution are arguing this indicates the concert promoter pressured Dr. Murray—who is currently in prison on an involuntary manslaughter charge—into okaying MJ's health despite obvious warning signs.
AEG countered by calling Jackson a drug addict and that the company wasn't privy to the private medical information shared between Jackson and his doctors.
