Gucci Mane Back to Jail One Day After Release
Gucci Mane’s brush with freedom was cut remarkably short after posting bail on April 12. According to NME, the rapper was re-arrested April 13 for an unannounced violation of the terms of his parole.
Mane originally went to jail on March 26 for hitting soldier James Lettley over the head with a champagne bottle. TMZ is also reporting that the judge overseeing that case originally denied bail requests for the rapper. Three days ago, the Judge had a change of heart and set bail at $75,000.
NME stated that Lettley claimed that the assault occurred in the VIP section of the Atlanta club Harlem Nights after asking a security guard at the establishment if he would take a photograph with the rapper.
“I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle,” he said. “And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.”
Lettley also added: “That is dangerous because if there was to be any other fan trying to approach him, ain’t no telling what else he might do to them. He could have possibly killed me. I just hope and pray that I recover pretty well because I still want to serve my military career.”
