5% of Americans Believe if Their Cat Could Talk, It Would Sound Like Cee Lo
Cee Lo Green has been a lot of things. He's been a rapper in Goodie Mob, a soul singer in Gnarls Barkley, a random background vocalist on TLC's "Waterfalls," and now he's a TV star as a mentor on The Voice. Today, he's adding one more honorific to that list: cat food jingle remixer. Yep, CeeLo is remixing the famous Meow Mix jingle! But the most noteworthy thing about the remix is that, according to the press release, "Five percent of Americans believe if their cat could talk, it would sound like CeeLo Green."
We're not sure of the methodology that marketing firm Kelton Research used to ascertain this number, but considering that one-third of Americans believe in ghosts and UFOs, Kelton's probably somewhere around the real number. And if you're curious—and you are—the top celebrities that cat owners thought their pet sounded like were Ellen Degeneres (18%), Fran Drescher (13%), Sean Connery (12%), Kathie Lee Gifford (9%) and Jay Leno (8%).
I don't know any cats that I personally think would sound like Cee Lo if they could talk, but Cee Lo's cat Purrfect is seemingly the feline incarnation of the man himself, so that cat would probably sound like Cee Lo.
Listen to Cee Lo's Meow Mix jingle remix here and let us know in the comments: Would your cat sound like Cee Lo? If not, who would it sound like?
